Want to join our Garden Club?

Holly Oak Garden Club is for the residents of Hollywood subdivision of Homewood (Birmingham), AL.  We would love to have you join us!  It’s a great way to meet your neighbors, promote a sense of community and to stay on top of what’s going on in our area. Each month we have a featured speaker on many topics such as personal health and wellness, compost gardening, public safety. We’ve even had the mayor of Homewood come speak to us- and answer questions that we had about the future of our city.  It’s a far cry from my grandmother’s memories of her garden club in Hattiesburg, MS where she was surprised that the ladies discussed each other more than they discussed flowers. Now, you don’t have to be a master gardener or even have a green thumb to join. You do need to love your neighborhood and have a dedication to see Hollywood stay as a premiere place to live in the Birmingham area. 

We are a great collection of neighbors: young newly weds; stay at home mothers; professional women; retired residents; women who have renovated their home several times over the last 20 years- and some who have just moved in to their home.  We don’t make you wear pearls to every meeting. I have never seen anyone with white gloves. You can come from your morning workout and still get a hug from someone you haven’t seen in a while, or you can come in your yoga pants knowing that your biggest workout of the day is getting the kids out the door to school.  We just want to see your smiling face.

Don’t you want to join us? We would love to have you!  We meet once a month from September through May. We alternate meeting times from morning to evening, so there’s a time for everyone to make it to a meeting.
